Opinions/help on loop design?

So for context I've got a 360 radiator up top and at the front of my case, a Phanteks D140 universal distro plate at the back which is that upside down L shape, a tall res/pump combo from EK and CPU/GPU blocks as standard.

First ever fully water cooled PC build was wondering if there are any tips and tricks to getting cooler runs or if there are any errors in my planned loop.

Thanks guys! And thank you AMD and NVIDIA for pushing the boundaries and making my aging PC completely obsolete! (made explaining to the wife a lot easier you see)

 

Edit: First thing I've noticed myself is the reservoir -> front radiator should be a long run to the top where the port is.

For your loop the distro plate seems completely useless to me. Why not just go RES > GPU > CPU > TOP RAD > FRONT RAD > RES ?

 

Currently waiting for a 3080 to complete my first ever waterloop too! ;) 

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Crossflow rad's should be MUCH more popular! I have one and it just makes so much more sense.

I didn't want cpu -> gpu or gpu -> cpu like most people do it because that makes no sense to me. Why introduce high temperature liquid? The distro plate is also for aesthetic reasons. But in my mind I always wanted cpu -> r, r->gpu that kind of flow

The loop order doesn't matter that much. The CPU is not nearly as hot as a GPU und doesn't suffer much from the "warmer" water coming from the GPU. Pretty much every tech youtuber has done this test by now. It only makes 2-3°C difference at most. Keep in mind, the water won't be hot. Normally the water stays ~26°C under full system load. If you really want the distro plate, sure go for it. But for me it doesn't make sense financially and for temps.

 

Also, the more unnecessary parts (more fittings, distro plate, etc...) you have, the more points of failure you have.

afaik the only order that's critical is reservoir > pump

the rest doesn't matter as the flow rate is too fast to stagnate on waterblocks

Is this getting cooler looking runs? or cooler performance wise.

 

Performance wise there isn't much the routing is going to do. If it's the look, maybe I can suggest a few things.
