Motherboard for AMD build

I would like to purchase MB for my new AMD build. Which board should I buy ASUS PRIME B450M-A or ASROCK B450M PRO 4? 

Rest of the specs. are-

Ryzen 5 3400g (may upgrade later with Ryzen 5 3600x)

G.skill Ripjaws v 8GB @ 3200 MHZ (will be installing one more stick of 8 GB)

kingston a2000 250 GB M.2 NVME

Gigabyte P450B PSU

Gigabyte C200 case

Seagate 2 TB HDD

I will be using APU now but will purchase atleast 1660 super if I'll upgrade CPU.. 

 

I've heard that this ASROCK model has got the best VRM in its price range.

Between the two, definitely the Pro4.

Is it a good brand as compared to Asus and what about the stability of Asrock components?

strictly between these two,  the pro 4, it has a 3 phase vrm with SM4337 and SM4336 and is a pretty decent board.

The Pro4 has much beefier and better-cooled power delivery, which will give you more stability especially if you plan to upgrade.

i got a pro4 for my buddy's 3600, how much power would the vrms handle reliably if he wants to upgrade?

Can easily handle a 3700x and maybe a stock 3900x.

hm thats fair, sounds about comparable to the msi x570 gaming plus? ik everyone hates it but i got one for free so i figured id use it in a build lol

The tier list on the forum rates it at 75A current draw, which at typical Ryzen voltages is around 80-100W. I'd feel pretty safe putting in any 95W or lower rated chip in it if you're not overclocking.

That board should run a stock 3900x as well. It's not a good board really.

Pro4 of course, especially since you're using an APU which means extra stress on the SOC VRM (since it powers the iGPU). The one on the B450M-A is not good for APUs beyond those with Vega 3 (i.e. Athlon stuff)

the pro4 is rated for 100A tbh, that is for overclocking 3700x and running Ryzen 9 at stock

Yea that's more fair, 75a just seems low for what that board can do. :D
