Big problem !!! My LED TV has no HDMI ARC

This TV has 2 HDMI ports but none support HDMI ARC.

In the near future I am planning to buy a Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar.

All the videos that I watched on Youtube about Dolby Atmos soundbars shows to connect the soundbar using the HDMI ARC port.

 

Do I need to buy a new TV to enjoy Dolby Atmos ?

ARC is for info to travel back and forth from the TV to the AVR.  You can enjoy Atmos with a regular HDMI output, no worries.

 

ARC is useful but not needed.

I will be purchasing an Amazon Fire TV stick which will serve as a source for all Dolby Atmos content. Can you please tell me about how to connect it to the soundbar ?

 

I mean if the soundbar has only one port & that is HDMI ARC if I connect the Amazon Fire TV stick to that port how will I then pass the video to the TV ?

Connect the Amazon Fire Stick to the TV, not the soundbar.  Then the TV HDMI to Soundbar (or optic, or however).

 

TV should have setting to turn off its speakers and be a passthru.

No, unfortunately this TV can't do HDMI passthrough. I can mute the volume of the TV & that's it.

Both the HDMI ports are strictly for audio/video INPUT.

I am at the moment using a Creative SBS 2.1 speaker with this TV. I have connected the speakers using the headphone jack but as you know that's a 2 channel / stereo out.

Honestly, I didn't check what TV you have, so I apologize for that.

 

Buy a new TV.  Or get the Amazon Fire TV Cube, it has audio out.  Or maybe something like this:

You need to either jury rig some aspect or get a TV that can handle the tech you're wanting to use.  I had to up my ante to a Roku Ultra w/ optical out for a similar reason.

I had a similar situation when I got an Atmos soundbar. If you plan to keep the TV for awhile I would suggest getting a soundbar that has an HDMI input on it.

 

However, I have had issues with getting Atmos from my fire 4k stick to the soundar. Not an issue coming from my computer, but from what I've seen, the fire tv stick won't output Atmos from Amazon content unless it detects a 4k tv. Could be wrong but I haven't been able to get Atmos working on it yet.
