Possible Nvidia 3070 Ti/Super Spotted

GravityHurts

Summary

Lenovo listed one of their Legion T7 Desktop systems as having a 3070ti. The card apparently features 16gb of gddr6 memory.

Quotes

Quote

Lenovo also confirmed that their Legion T7 system will feature the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti model. This SKU has not been announced or even teased by NVIDIA in any form. Though, it aligns with the rumors that RTX 3070 series will be offered with both 8GB and 16GB memory. What remains unclear is whether the model is really called 3070 Ti or 3070 SUPER, we have heard both names in private conversations with AIBs.

My thoughts

I think that super/ti versions of their cards with more vram would make sense for Nvidia to release. I was underwhelmed by the amount of vram especially in the 3080 and I think other people were too.

Although I would be personally interested in such a model, I don't think NVIDIA would produce a 70-Ti that would eat into the 80 series card.

I am expecting a 3060 and a 3080 Ti though to cover all the price ranges several weeks after "Big Navi"

I also doubt a 3070 Ti, wouldn't it hurt the 3080? 🤔

Well for instance in the 16 series you've got the 1660, 1660 Super and 1660Ti, so not really.

I think it just sounds dumb lol. "Ti" is fine.

If this is real, I think there are two possibilities;

A 3070ti at 700usd. It has the same GPU die as the normal 3070, but with 16gb. You can pick less vram, more preformance, or less preformance, more vram. Maybe the 70ti in this case has gddr6x instead.

Or

3070ti at 600usd. It just has 16gb of ram. That's it.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I think that I'd prefer they ditch the Ti branding and kept the Super branding - but they shouldn't have both. Super is more self-explanatory than Ti, and it's just a bit easier to express: 3070S vs 3070Ti.

I prefer the super branding. It's clearer for consumers.

I've seen tons of people refer to a Super card, say a 2080 Super, as 2080S, but right afterwards they just call it 2080. Then you end up reading forum threads where you see "2080S" mentioned three times and "2080" mentioned at least the same amount of times..

I don't feel like it was this way with Ti, and given how long Nvidia has had the "Ti" branding, I think it's a lot more recognisable than "Super"/"S".

I never understood why Ti is held in a higher regard to Pt. Platinum is far more rare and valuable compared to Titanium.

If this is true, I totally called it on another thread. Someone even said that "NV said they wont be doing a Ti".

But there's just no chance that they will leave this lineup as it currently stands. NV will expand that lineup until we're blue in the face. They might not call it a Ti, but you can bet your ass that they will bring out something to fill in between the existing 3 cards. And i reckon you can bet that there will be something with more performance than the 3080 and at a better price than the 3090 which will appeal far more. You just wont have to pay the early adopters fee.

Plus i'd hope it would come with DP2.0 alongside monitors capable of 4k over 120hz.
