Is now a good time to buy Ram?

I was wondering if this was a good time to buy Ram. I see a few stores offering lots of discounts and I was wondering if there was a specific reason for it, like is ddr5 coming out soon or something?

Don't worry about ddr5, that probably wont be available for the consumer market for a pretty long time.

is it worth it to buy new ram now? depends, do you need a better kit and/or more capacity?

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Personally, I do not see a reason in waiting. 1x8 ddr4 can be bought for less than $40. I plan on adding another stick soon.

 

not to mention, I do not think any of us know the ddr5 release date

I don't need it immediately but I was planning on building a new PC later this year once the RTX 3000 stocks stabilize and possibly Zen 3 CPUs come out. I was thinking of buying ram now though cause I was seeing a lot of discounts. I'm mostly worried about them going back up in price around November or December.

i can't know how prices are going to be in the future, but in November black friday is going to be a thing and there might be some discounts for ram.

Ram prices are bottoming out right now, because stock is so over inflated. It is a pretty darn good time to buy.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Neat! I have a Ryzen CPU and I'm thinking of upgrading to Zen 3 when it comes out. Should I try and buy something with 4000 MHz or will 3600 MHz be enough?

3600 is plenty.

if you are planning to use it with zen 3, it's looking like it'll at least be 3800 with 4000 likely, but you can always oc a 3600 kit
