And does it still work with the old 1700X and it's specific to the 3900x?

It works with the 1700x even after bios upgrade

And before you ask i tried it with one kit and then the other just in case the mismatch of brands is what caused it.

No, mismatching ram makes no difference, try to look one more time for a new bios

I'm not going to put the blame on the memory or the motherboard seeing how both worth with your 1700x. Memory isn't going to just stop working from CPU to CPU.

If anything I would put the blame on your 3900x, seeing how that's the one component you are changing that is causing issues.

Can you be a bit more specific regarding what's happening when you turn it on? Fans spinning? POST beeps? anything like that? Does it appear to be booting, just not display outputing?

ask me about my homelab

on a personal quest convincing the general public to return to the glory that is 12" laptops.

cheap and easy cable management is my fetish.

No thnx... switching back to the 1700x for right now as I have school I have always had problems with the bios on this mobo even on 1700x I think I partially bricked the bios a long time ago when randomly it stopped reading hardrives and then started again for no reason. I'm buying a new Mobo in a month or two https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SW8DQVL/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 and the 3090 when it comes out...
