Yea, don't see anything wrong with them, good luck!

ok so my brother needs some significant upgrades.

his current build:

i3 7100

B250M-DS3H (iirc)

8GB 2400mhz DDR4 (2x4gb)

GTX 1050

Corsair TX550M

random ssd and hdd

Thermaltake Vesa H13 case

he wants to play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands, among others on all ultra at 1080p 60fps. this machine currently can't do that.

he also does some game development/programming on the side, as well as some video editing.

i was looking for parts to upgrade this machine and i want to go AMD for him, but i want this list to be looked over one more time because i'm familiar with AMD up to AM3+, i know nothing about AM4.

new build:

AMD Ryzen 3600

included cooler

MSI B450M PRO-VDH

MSI GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS OC

Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200mhz DDR4 (2x8gb)

parts that will remain:

the ssd and hdd, both are still working fine i see no reason to replace those.

the Corsair TX550M, again still works fine and 550W should be enough for this right?

the case. i might put some front intake fans in it because currently it only has rear exhaust installed, is that a good idea?

the 550 watt should be just fine, would change the ventus to a different model though, iirc the ventus doesnt have good cooling and tends to be a little loud.

i picked it because it was che cheapest tbh, we're at €611 total rn and his budget was €600 max, but he said this is fine still. i don't really wanna go much higher.

yea it's not the best model, but it'll do the job for a 1660 super, it starts being a problem with higher end cards, though this will cool the 1660 super just fine.

i should also say that selling the existing parts for a bit more budget isn't a good idea, because this will be his onyl computer and he also needs it for school. should something suddenly break i want him to have spare parts.
