MONOPRICE?

WayneStark89

I was hoping someone could tell me what this is? My gf had both cables plugged into the back of her xbox. There is no model or serial number so any help is appreciated!

I would guess some sort of Digital audio IN -> analogue stereo output  converter powered from the usb cable.

Correction... saw 3 cables in third picture and assumed the third is stereo out but no.

One thing is sure, it has a digital audio input .... maybe it's some kind of audio to bluetooth, or audio to usb / capture audio to usb etc etc

A bluetooth transmitter, maybe? Using the usb for power and the optical as source?

@WayneStark89 if you unplug it, does anything stop working? Also, if there's not model number on the outside, pop off the cover (top looks like it might come off easily) and check the board inside for a model number.

Definitely seems like a digital audio adapter of some kind. With no direct outputs, I'd guess that it's a broadcast antenna for a wireless headset like @sub68mentioned (likely proprietary if you don't see any Bluetooth devices after it gets power, USB ports might always be on for the XBOX, try unplugging it and plugging it back in, then check for devices).
