Is 1366x768 bad?

Yea, i use windows, W
Go to solution Solved by Bananasplit_00,

You can find used, not all too shitty, 1080p screens for like €10 if you look on your local markets. Used parts sounds like the right way all around if your budget is so tight you can't even get a new 1080p screen tbh

i'm getting a new budget pc but i really really wanted atleast a 1080p display but i couldn't due to budget... so i'm getting a 1366x768 display. is it bad? or will it just improve my fps in games due to the lower pixel count. cause i do charity streams every saturday so i wanted to get a nice pc on a budget.

YES, I RUN RAID 1 OVER RAID 0

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

get a 1360x768. I cant get anything to add the extra 6 pixles on the edge of my monitor.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Literally only one useful answer in this thread has been posted.

I used to rock a TV that tapped out at 1360x768 and the overall experience wasn't bad. It's not that high of a resolution and websites are starting to shift away from prioritizing that as a usable resolution, but considering that 1366x768 is roughly 50% of 1080p just on a raw total pixel count, you could definitely expect a decent performance gain just on that alone.

But as someone else said, you can always keep an eye out for used 1080p monitors in the $10-25 range easily if you're that cash strapped.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

There may be a middle ground if you can't find a cheap enough 1080p display, 1680x1050 displays were also common at a point but practically worthless now. The extra pixels over 1366x768 will still help.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

My TV is 1366x768 and its fine, I really dont see a need to upgrade it.

So if you cant find any 1080p panels for a decent price its fine.

Take 1080p if you can though, obviously.

Also where are people finding 1080p monitors for that little? I havent seen any under $60
