GPU not at 100% use?

Minecraft is a CPU bottleneck of a game, you wont see your GPU at 100% used almost never in Minecraft.

Hi, recently finished my first PC build

Ryzen 5 3600

GTX 1660 Super

16 GB 3200Mhz RAM

I'm running Minecraft with VSync Off and no FPS cap, and am running between 300-400 FPS, but my GPU is not at 100% utilisation. I have checked using MSI Afterburner and Task Manager.

Can anyone help as to why this isn't running at 100%, as it shouldn't be a CPU bottleneck?

Because it's Minecraft.

Assuming you're running dual-channel memory, your 3600 should handle the 1660 Super very well.

CPU is at 10%, is this because the load is only on one core?

correct. If you look at task manger with Logical cores so you can see all 6 cores 12 threads, you likely will see 1 more maxed out. This is the cause.

Great, thanks. Had a look with HWMonitor, 1 thread is maxed out rather than 1 core. Is it normal for this thread to change though?

As you can see the max load has been on 4 of the threads and keeps switching.

If its minecraft then like others said its normal since the load is on one core of your cpu.

Also, make sure you have no fps cap and V-Sync turned off
