YouTube Removes Upload Email Notifications after over a decade

Is there a reason people don't just go to their Subscriptions tab/page on the app/browser? Through all of the changes and redesigns, this page has shown you every video from all of your subscriptions in reverse chronological order. It's easy to keep up with things that way- just got there and keep scrolling back until you hit the last video you watched, then work your way forward.

 

I'm not a huge youtube user so there might be some nuance here I'm missing, but I have a decent amount of subscriptions and this way of watching videos has never let me down or caused me to miss anything as far as I know.
