Remnant from the ashes: 35-50 fps in lobby Ultra 1440p

expected 60-100fps

World War Z: | 1080p ≈ 60fps | 1440p ≈ 50fps | 2160p ≈ 30fps |

expected: | 1080p ≈ 100fps | 1440p ≈ 90fps | 2160p ≈ 52fps |

Where did you get those "expected" numbers from?

Here's Doom Eternal for example:

This is taken from techspot.com - they got 160FPS average with a 2070, and that was with an overclocked 9900K and a pretty fast memory kit. I'd say your result sounds perfectly normal.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC

at 1080p your cpu with 2666 ram aint helping much. you could sell your current kit for like 40 bucks and get a new kit at 3000-3200 for ~$60 which would help a bit, if your 2600x's imc can handle it

topics i need help on:

Spoiler

my "oops i bought intel right before zen 3 releases" build

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (placeholder)

GPU: Gigabyte 980ti Xtreme (also placeholder), deshroud w/ generic 1200rpm 120mm fans x2, stock bios 130% power, no voltage offset: +70 core +400 mem

Memory: 2x16gb GSkill Trident Z RGB 3600C16, 14-15-30-288@1.45v

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S w/ white chromax bling
OS Drive: Samsung PM981 1tb (OEM 970 Evo)

Storage Drive: XPG SX8200 Pro 2tb

Backup Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 4TB

PSU: Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W w/ black/white Cablemod extensions
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark (to be replaced with a good case shortly)

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

Hi! those numbers are a bit more realistic yes i took the numbers from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLy2zz6cNno

There are games where i don't think i'm getting the performance i should

for example, playing Borderlands 3 (dx11) with my friend who has a GTX 1070 and an I7 3770K he gets from 100fps to 120fps, when mirroring his exact settings i'm at 40 fps to 60fps. Shouldn't i get similar or better performance than that?

I'll try to compare my results to techspot and see how i'm faring

I may be able to try my friend's ram that goes up to 3600MHz

zen + doesnt handle higher memory clocks well and i'm pretty sure that the ds3h only supports 3200mhz anyways. unless you are comfortable messing around with clocks and timings in bios
