Bit defender free version and -1011 error: is my bit defender updated or not?

I saw a pop up from bit defender stating a -1011 error: update failed.  Looking at the app itself though it is reporting “update successful” but not saying which update and I can’t figure out if it is referring to the current update or an apparently long past one as I found a whole series of these “update failed” Errors.  I don’t know if bitdefender is functioning correctly and I’m just occasionally getting an update fail that later succeeds or if the app is way way out of date functionally.  I’m seeking ways to check this.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
