Reaction in Messages

zeusthemoose

Would it be possible to add reactions to the Messages section so we could use them on PMs?

Most likely not connected to the reactions on posts so it doesn't affect Reputation Activity and maybe not the same ones, but ones similar to what there is on imessage (thumbs up, thumbs down, like, question, etc.)

I think this would be a nice feature to add (if possible) and would make the Messages feature a bit better.

Thanks for considering it!

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Reactions in messaging apps work because the communication is synchronous, so you react just after they posted it and they see your reaction, and it doesn't (at least in the platforms that I've used reactions on) send you a notification. It makes a bit less sense to me in a forum PM, where it's asynchronous. Once it's sending you a notification, why not just quote them in the PM and express your feelings that way - PMs tend to have very few participants so it's not like a topic where you need to avoid spamming with "thanks" and "I agree" type messages.
