Ryzen 5 3600 too hot

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hello everyone, Today While I was playing Watch_Dogs 2 at Ultra settings 2k resolution I noticed my CPU hit 90 degrees with core performance boost disabled. Why does this happen Im using Wraith Stealth as the cooler. I checked my voltages from HWinfo and they are 1.031 V while idle how Can I fix this?

Do temps change if you take out off the side-panel?

Without the side panel the CPU temp maxes out at 65 degrees in load With Side Panel on it goes to 90 degrees

But I don't want to take off the side panel can't I undervolt instead of that

If this is the case, then your case's lack of airflow is most likely the issue. If you are unwilling to get a new case, fill it with as many case fans as possible. Then consider a larger tower cooler instead of the stock cooler.

If the temperature change is this dramatic though, I would definitely suggest a new case...something like the Phanteks P300a, P400a or coolermaster NR600

If I buy a 240mm AIO for the cpu at the top of the case will the temps of everything and the cpu drop due to having 2 more fans at the top?

This should fix your CPU temps.

What are your GPU temps like? If they are also bad, change the case, if not an AIO at the top should work

I would try a new cpu cooler then. AIO would almost certainly work. A larger air cooler would also probably be enough and would be cheaper

The tower coolers are so huge I hate the looks of them I can't stand those I should be good with an AIO also 2 extra fans at the top to improve airflow right

AIO sounds like a good option then
