Ryzen 3600 b450m hdv

omar0o

Hello, so i Just built a new System. It is a 3600, b450m hdv matx, g skill 3200 2x8. The gpu is my old one a GTX 970 and a powerspec power supply. When i boot it up all the fans spin even the gpu. But i don’t get any signal on my monitor. I switched the ram and isolated it and still wont. I doubt the gpu is dead because the fans spin and I had used it before. My suspicion is maybe i have to update the bios even though it said it was 3000 ready. I also cleared the cmos and took out the battery thing. Any suggestions ?

I was gonna suggest trouble shoot LEDs, but the manual doesn't mention any... makes it a lot harder to determine the problem... if you have another pc you can test the ram and gpu in that would help narrow it down

b450s are 3000 ready, as long as they have the bios version needed.
When the 3000 ryzens came out last year, amd put out a new bios version for every b450 mb to be able to run those, so as long as you dont have that, you wont be able to run it.
What bios version do you currently have? you will need at least p2.30 to run it.

You see i don’t know. I bought all of these components new from micro center. I assume it would have the bios needed but it won’t post. Everything else spins and runs but i wouldn’t think it has something to do with the cpu

well, i would think that. Do you have any chance to get your hands a 2000 ryzen to see if that works? And to also then see what bios version you have?

doestn seem like bios issue. so you have plugged in the mothebroad, cpu and gpu power, aswell as sata power for your drives?

And that motherboard isnt good for ryzen 5 3600. the VRM's cant probably hande that cpu even when stock.

try with 1 stick ram in both slots. then try with the other stick in both slots. if that doesnt help.

So the psu is working? it is really bad psu but it should work becuase the fans spin. the pgu likely works. motherboardl ikely works cuz the fans spin.

If the ram does work go to microcenter and just updtae the bios there. i still wouldnt think that that is a bios issue since it had ryzen 3000 sticker in it

I currently have a hard drive from my old system, an old bios was installed on it. Do you think maybe it interferes ?
