It looks like I will have to start saving now. 

I will wait to see as many reviews as possibly before I buy though. I rushed it a bit with the 2080 ti and paid for it in the end.

21 Years ago nvidia announced the Geforce 256, the first ever Geforce branded card. On the same day they plan to announce  whatever this is. The 21 years thing might be a reference to that?

My GTX 1080 tis would crash long before the cooling solution gave out but the 2080 tis the cooling solution gives out before the clocks. 

 

The first 2080 ti I bought was a EVGA XC. It is a 2 slot, 2 fan card just like my 1080 tis. Its cooling solution is not adequate to cool the card at higher clocks. My second 2080 ti was an EVGA FTW3 Ultra. A 3 slot, 3 fan card. I consider that minium cooling for a 2080 ti.

I hope this time around they don't do something like "Our new GPUs are 40% faster than last generation, but 70% more expensive", I really want a decent GPU for 4K for around 300€, so I hope that the 3060 or whatever it is called will be slightly cheaper than the 2060 at launch, while being at least 30% faster and hopefully not using more than 150W. That shouldn't be impossible as they've done it with the 900 series, but if they repeat the 900 series I hope that they won't repeat the 3,5GB memory in some similar way.

It is a super nova indeed. Probably nvidia wants to show off by teasing that the 31st of August will be a mind-blowing and very rare event for gamers.

I think that they did a pretty decent marketing job rright there. Teasing only a little tiny bit, but with such an impact that everyone is hyped
