Asus B550-E Gaming and pcie3.0

amdin

Hello
I want to buy the Asus B550-E Gaming for the 3700x but I see that it uses pcie3.0 for connecting with the cpu.
I don't really know what does it mean and why only one m.2 can be applied (which is just enough for me), if someone could explain it to me it will be nice.
Thank you.

overkill board, at its price it only fits Ryzen 9s.

to the chipset yes (lines up with your PCIe 3 claim). Dont forget Ryzen platform also has a M.2 slot directly connected to the CPU, on B550 it runs PCIe 4.0 x4. B550-E has 2 M.2 slots in total.

The lanes that are wired to the cpu are 4.0.

Chipset lanes are 3.0 though.

Overpriced board and does nothing special.

As for a board, the b550 strix f, tomahawk, mortar, a pro, aorus pro are all Decent.

What?

All b550 boards have gen 4 lanes that are wired to the cpu.

I'm taking about nvidia sli.

I plan to buy the 2070super and maybe in the future i would like to add another 2070super or some other gpu, I am not able to do it with the b550f because it doesn't support it.

No you won't as the strix f doesn't have pcie switchers. But even then, sli is dead for gaming and brings little to no performance benifits and doesn't scale well. By that time getting a better GPU would be the better option.

yes, but to use sli you need a board with pcie switchers.

as i said,
