two individual RAM sticks vs RAM kit in (stock/no XMP)dual channel?

My CPU and motherboard(i5 6400 and Asus H110M-K) doesnt support XMP(i think it it does but it the limit is 2133 MHz according to the BIOS) or faster than 2133 MHz. i was thinking that i could just buy individual sticks since it seems it doesnt matter becasue I cant overclock RAM in this motherboard but is the perforamance the same as have a proper RAM kit?

mix and matching stick could and could not work, we can't guarantee it, getting a single 2133 kit would probably be the best option.

but assuming they are the same capacity. they'll work in dual channel.
