Don't have that much ram it runs fine on 3, java doesn't like when you allocate to much ram then it will perform bad also what is your render distance?

Sorry, I don't know where to put this!

I have, for the first time, been

  1. On a Zoom call
  2. Have lots of tabs open
  3. Had Spotify open
  4. Had Edge open (just looking at some files)
  5. Had Mail open
  6. Had Radeon software open
  7. And tried to play Minecraft

I configured Minecraft to use 5GB of RAM, because I have too much ;).

I am using 6GB of RAM without the game open, and.... it crashes. With a Out of RAM error. But I have 6GB of free RAM.

It is fixed by configuring the game to run with 3GB of RAM, but I still have 6GB of RAM, unused.

Specc:

Ryzen 5 3600

G.SKILL Aegies 3200-DDR4 16GB CS-16

Radeon RX 470 @ 1400 mhz (it is also at 50C...)

GIGABYTE DS3H B450

If it's working, then don't worry about the spare RAM.
