ISP security concern

Apple_Fusion

Hello everyone I have very basic knowledge of how ISPs work and most of that is due to techquickie and LTT

Recently I got a GPON connection (first time getting optical fibre internet)

This new Internet is considerably faster than my old provider but I had heard some gossip of privacy concerns and today something popped up in my iPad settings app that confused  me

so I would appreciate it if someone here can explain to me what this warning means and how to set up my router in wat that protects my privacy more

You're not really providing us with enough info.

What do you mean?

What gossip and from whom?

Your iOS device is trying to use DoH (DNS over HTTPS), but it is being blocked for some reason. I don't think iOS does this by default so it seems like you have made this change yourself, or some app you are using has changed it for you. Maybe something like 1.1.1.1.

In any case, what is happening is that your device is trying to send encrypted DNS requests but they are getting blocked. So it does a fallback to regular DNS traffic.
