My Review of the Redragon Kumara K552- What some people call "the best budget mechanical keyboard."

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Simple Overview:

Price: A+

Quality: B

Switches: C

Sound: D

Lighting: A

Overall, I don't really like this keyboard, and will probably upgrade soon, even though I've only had it for a little. I would recommend trying to find another budget keyboard that is better. It is a good keyboard, no doubt about it. But is it the best budget keyboard? No.

What switches? Comparisons? Any details at all?

'Sound - D' doesn't mean anything. If they're Otemu blues, is sound D because they're worse than cherry blues or because you hate clicky switches?

without comparisons, not sure what to make of this at all.

The Kumara uses Outemu Blues. Not very good IMO.

The G413 by Logitech is better made, around the same price, and is a much more trusted keyboard.

By the sound, I meant that the metal body produces a ringy sound that makes typing, gaming and anything else hard to listen to. I like clicky switches, but instead of a *click* i hear a *cl-RINGGGG*

This is also my first review, so I'm sorry if it's not that good.

about $70, which is only $30 more than the Kumara and infinitely better.

Sorry about this being such a bad review, this is my first one, and I wanted to share my opinion.

Can you give details on what you like and don't like?

The Sh!tCentre: Ryzen 5 1600 - Gigabyte B450M Aorus - GTX 1070 FE - 32GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4-2400 - Western Digital 1TB SN750 M.2 NVMe - SanDisk Ultra II 960GB SSD - Inland Pro 1TB SSD - Corsair CX550M (gray-label) - Vintage 2007 Lenovo ThinkCentre J200 case, complete with Celeron and Vista Basic stickers, and the Olympic logo to commemorate Lenovo's sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing games. Looks rad-iciulous.

Final post, to sum everything up: I like the fact that it is a solid keyboard with a nice body and nice keycaps. I really like the price. I don't like the font, or the ringy sound it produces.

$30 makes a big difference, and that is at a different price category.
