I need help choosing what to do for a new PC

Budget (including currency): $1500 usd

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  Mostly games such as (Valorant, Apex, and F1), Light video editing, and 3D design.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently only have a Zephyrus G14 laptop for just basic use and light gaming but I am considering buying a Full out PC for at home, or Building one. I'm thinking of buying in the next few weeks but if I should I would wait until next gen stuff releases so current parts are cheaper. I'd be running at 240 hz 1080p preferably so a similar frame rate to hz would be nice but I could stand if it was a little lower. I already have a keyboard, mouse, and display. If anyone has any clue what I should do I would be happy to know.

welcome to the forums!

would recommend waiting a few months for zen 3, nvidia ampere, and RDNA2. the G14 should be plenty till then.
