Can I mix and match my Memory?

This may have already been answered but I couldn't find a forum about it.

I have 8gb of DDR3 Ram (2X4GB) 1600mhz from Kingston.

My friend is offering me 8gb of DDR3 Ram (2x4GB) 1600mhz from G-Skill.

My question is can I mix and match these types of ram even through they are the same type of DDR and same speeds?

technically it will work, though mix and matching ram can and can't work, it's not guaranteed but it should technically work.
