How to test an internet connection (not mine)

Lilbat

Hi,

I'm going to visit an appartement that I may rent for my studies. I'd like to test the internet connection but I don't know how.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Connect your phone to the wifi and run a speed test. Or bring a laptop and plug into an ethernet and then test it

Hopefully there's a wifi I can borrow. That's where a laptop comes useful.

If the apartment is empty wouldn't the line be canceled/shut off? I think asking the neighbors is a good idea, not only for internet, but for noise levels etc.

I agree with asking the neighbors. If the internet cuts out at times, that's not something that you will notice in a 5 minute test, but something the neighbors can let you know about.

you could put the address into  ISP websites and see what sort of speeds are available in your area
