Strictly between those two, DS3H.

How much can you get a B450M Pro4 or B450M Mortar Max for, compared to these two?

i know you may probably want the b550m ds3h instead but i would have to recommend the b450m ds3h, i know for a fact it supports gen 3 ryzen cpu's and should sometime in the future support gen 4 in some way shape or form, and i know that the b450m ds3h is a good budget motherboard but i dont know much about the b550m ds3h

I wouldn't bank on the B450 DS3H having support for Zen 3. And even then, you're only looking at a 6-core in that motherboard. I don't think the downgrade in quality is worth the price difference.

Yeah that seems to be the norm now with stock. In that case, again if those are your only options, B550M DS3H, or a B450M Pro4 if that's available and cheaper.

i didnt mean full support or anything like that, just some kind of beta like support, in my honest opinion its a little overkill to have anything better than a ryzen 5 3600 in any current modern system (in my opinion)

he probably just got unlucky with the board, either that or his cpu hates duel channel which wouldnt surprise me because its happened before

Fair enough, though if a B450 board gets Zen 3 support it will be through a beta BIOS anyway. I'm just saying that I don't see Gigabyte bothering to release such BIOS for the B450 DS3H since they likely don't expect most people to want to run Zen 3 CPUs in that kind of a motherboard.

A 3600 is plenty for gaming today and probably a good amount of time to come, but a little bit of upgradability is still a nice thing to have.

No if they're similarly priced. The ds3h is better. But considering it's 150 dollars more. It's not worth the extra money over the steel legend.
