Using AMD Dual Graphics to speed up your system when you have a 7850k and an R7 250 is a no brainer

We've got TWO videos on this topic now! The first one includes just AMD's latest APU against itself and a low end discrete graphics card. In the second video we expand our testing to include other CPU and APU test platforms, and some more powerful graphics cards! I think the results may forever change the way you think about the words "cheap" and "value" and how they relate to each other!

Try the Athlon X4 750K with a 260x.

Just a suggestion, but could these types of videos explain what is being shown on screen. Benchmarks are lovely and all, but just flashing them up on screen without talking specifically about them makes it much more difficult to process the data than it needs to be.

All you would need is to say for example: In Bioshock infinite the single Apu 7850k got 22fps, while the 7850k + R7 250 in Dual graphics config got 39fps a marked improvement over running them not in dual graphics mode which could only muster 25.5 fps. If you did that while the benchmarks were up on screen it would be waay easier to follow.

Nonetheless, I like these types of benchmark videos.

It was interesting but an Athlon x4 750k and a r9 270 would cost about the same as your setup. What i am saying is that i would like to see more configurations and not just turning dual graphics on or off but if you already have an apu and want an upgrade then dual graphics doesnt seem that bad.

But the Athlon has no on-die GPU, making this suggestion have nothing to do with the video...

 

Just a suggestion, but could these types of videos explain what is being shown on screen. Benchmarks are lovely and all, but just flashing them up on screen without talking specifically about them makes it much more difficult to process the data than it needs to be.

 

Especially when the graph is only up for a second or two, requiring us to pause the video.

This.  I'd like to see how it stacks up against other options in the same price range.  How does a $100 5600K + a $200 270x stack up against this?  How does a $130 core i3 + $170 750ti or 260x compare?

 

And more dual graphics options.  Not just the flagship APU.

I would like to see the i3-4340 and the 750 Ti go head to head with this set up. This combo comes out to be $330.

 

OR

 

The extreme with a Celeron G1820 with a GTX 760 at a total of $300

I'd like to see a comparison for where getting Nvidia would make sense price wise here.

+1 to throw a gtx 750 into the mix

 

-mantle considerations

-memory speeds

-temperatures

-power use

-other fm2/fm2+ chips
