No thanks, I'll pass. If you're going to use any security software alongside Windows Defender, it should be MalwareBytes Premium & CommonSense™, or MBAM Premium & Kaspersky for those without CommonSense™.

This is typical of these "security" suites nowadays. Loaded down with all kinds of "features" that are really just a bunch of nothing. Lifelock? What a joke. They've actually leaked people's info. A whole 50GB of backup??? OneDrive gives you more for free. Most of the rest is already baked into Windows Security. Hard pass.

You don't need an antivirus like that, especially norton.

It's basically a marketing scam.

I don't think that's accurate. At least I am only getting 15GB for free on OneDrive. Are you maybe counting the additional space from referrals? If so, that's kinda misleading, since not everyone knows enough people to spam with those referrals in order to get all the free extra space from them.

I can almost guarantee this is nothing but marketing wankiteering. "Here put these headphones on your head, we'll sounds relatable with the younger crowd."

Then there's the fact I almost guarantee the software won't actually cater to most gamers who end up using it. It's all about the numbers with these types of businesses.

Why? Dashlane and most password managers already have Darkweb monitoring built-in.

Nothing new here. Windows 10 already has that feature under Focus Assist. Other paid anti-virus programs already had that for a long time. [here] [here]

Sure it now has better detection scores but afaik, it has a larger attack surface compared to other antivirus programs. @leadeater once said that SEP had a RCE vulnerability that grants an attack "god-mode", since Norton and SEP share the same code base, it's possible that even Norton is affected.

Oh. Yeah, I have a 365 account, so I get 1TB free. Still, even if you're paying for cloud storage, I certainly wouldn't pay Norton. And, when it comes to paid storage, virtually everyone gives you more than 50GB even on the lowest plan.

And technically, the 365 account is like $10/mo and includes Office for 5 users as well. That's a far better value, and most people are going to need Office anyways.
