Adapting DP to older 144hz DVI only monitor

Hi, 

 

I am looking at upgrading to a RX 5700XT however I have ran into a issue I may have. How would I go about adapting Display Port to and older DVI only 144hz monitor? I have tried an cheap adaptor on my GTX 680 but it only shows up as 60hz... I know the DVI cable is dual link and capable of 144hz as I use it natively via the 680s DVI port. I assume I need a better adaptor? 

 

any help appreciated :)
