3950x upgrade

I'm upgrading from a 2700X and was wondering could i get away with using an air cooler like a black edition 212 evo i currently use to cool a 3950X at stock speeds i dont overclock? I also want to avoid liquid coolers. Thanks!

No. You will thermal throttle.

If you're wanting to drop $700 on a CPU, you better be prepared to spend some money on cooling it.
