First build in a Decade

Budget (including currency): £900

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1. Gaming 2. Light Video/Photo Editing

Other details: Currently using an Antec Three Hundred tower, I was planning on holding onto this to allow for the extra cash to be put into the other components. I have three hard drives which I am going to continue to use for storage of long term files not required for quick access. I have a logitech G15 Keyboard. Currently running a 1080p 60hz monitor (possible upgrade next year but not a priority for me at the moment).

Dont get that ssd. Its not great compared to others in the price range. I would go for this. Also that case doesn't look great in terms of airflow so i would invest in a new one. The phanteks p400a or fractal design meshify c are good options.

Good build.
I would get a Samsung  EVO Plus or a WD Black for the SSD  (a little more expensive but better)

-There might be a BIOS issue with your B450 if it was made before last year. If that's the case, find a friend with an older gen Ryzen (1000 or 2000) CPU to patch the BIOS.

-The Antec Three hundred (my old case) doesn't have great ventilation because of the huge drive bay that obstructs air flow.
If your still put HDD and optical readers in there, make sure you have good cable management.
What I did on mine was to set all the back case fans push out (making a negative pressure setup). It works but you have to clean your case a few times a years.

Spoiler

Ok I've made the change with the SSD to a WD SN750 (500GB) as recommended by Ed-petit. Within my budget without compromising on space, which I would have had to do with the EVO Pro.

I was concerned about how the Antec Case would hold up with cooling, but as this is an upgrade to a budget (£900 is my absolute max) I will have to possibly compromise on the GPU to afford it. Do we think that is worth it based on the substandard cooling or will an upgrade next year of the case be on ok alternative?

Ok whilst doing a final check on availability of the list I've been struggling to find the below PSU:

Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£69.99 @ Currys PC World)

Any other recommendations within a similar price range?

SeaSonic S12III 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
