No it won't drastically change performance while it's  the same core die with unlocked multi and higher out of box clocks.

They will be increase only by a small amount.

Unfortunately, I have to be the bad guy and tell you to get closer to now generation of processors for a significant fps increase.

hey, i have upgraded my gpu from a gtx 760 to 1660 super i have an msi nightblade b85c 017eu, an i5 4460 and 8gb ram (soon to be 16gb) 1600mhz ddr3.

this only is heavily efecting csgo when i play on the gtx 760  whas geting a avg fps of 90 and the same on the new gpu

i know that the cpu is bottlenecking my gpu but my gpu is overing betwing 70and90% usige and mu gpu at 30to60% usig

but i havent updated my bios it is stil in verson 3.1 and the newest on is 3.5 so that can be the problem but i dont know

Would that be essential for the same nVidia driver version?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Use HWiNFO64 to get a better idea of the CPU/GPU load share... whichever has the higher load is the best candidate for upgrading.

Yes

OK... would've thought so for AMD - nVidia swap, but not 'internal' upgrade.

CSGO is a cpu hungry game.

Overclock the cpu. This will get the FPS up higher.

Could be that the 1660 is more prone to falling asleep waiting for frames to process, than the 760... so more likely to 'drop them'.

Well he had stated the game play FPs are the same at 90.

My brother is a CSGO crazed gamer.

No difference from GTX 980 to GTX 1080ti.

Exact same frame rates using a 980X.

I didn't mean literally falling asleep.  :)

New CPU... to draw frames faster.

I have i7-4770k and you can see in my other thread I'm getting low FPS too. I'm thinking it might be power supply related.
