Bug or feature?

Any other relevant details: If this isn't a feature, then maybe it should be? If the OP post's under his own post then perhaps it shouldn't show up as a post at all on the side bar, assuming its directly after the first post.

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

At me or quote me, I want to hear your opinion.

Hopefully anything I say is factually correct. Sorry for any mistakes in advanced.

Since it now says 3 replies, and 2 of them are his, I'm gonna guess that you purely got the timing right for it not to show you the updated posts.

The sidebar block gets cached for a few seconds, which is why it's slightly out of date there, but that count is just the number of replies to the topic. Changing the way that number is calculated isn't feasible, because it's pretty baked into the forum software and is used in several places other than the recent topics feed.
