580 score is normal.yeah you better use 1060

My MSI Armor RX 580 8gb is really underperforming. I have the latest drivers and did DDU and flashed original bios. Any idea why it still underperforms? Basically an RX 580 should outperform a GTX 1060, but in my case we learnt that my GTX 1060 is buffed on steroids and has a clock speed of +/- 2000 mhz, so that's not true in my case. The RX 580 was used for mining but never stressed to the point of no return. Before I flashed bios it had a clock speed of 1200 mhz and a memory speed of 2180 mhz. Now it has a clock speed of 1366mhz and a memory speed of 2000 mhz. Do the numbers before flashing the bios tell you anything or are they normal?

How does it perform in games?  Did you run any benchmarks?  Clock speeds mean nothing really.

In games it's stable. No tears or anything weird. I ran NovaBench, UserBenchmark and both Ungines (Valley and Heaven)

UserBenchmark

Never use UserBenchmark. It is not at all accurate.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

can you download passmark performance test and benchmark it there? (run all 3d tests)

its 3d score should be around 8724

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here

Why exactly do you think it's underperforming? Just because it's not clocked as high? As @Dedayog said, that means nothing. Also, a 580 will not outperform a 1060. It was created as a direct competitor to the 1060. They trade blows, and it all evens out in the wash. Performance is virtually identical.

I think it's underperforming because I put the 1060 in and got 10-20 more fps on everything. On high/max settings.

Will do that tomorrow and send you the results. I was figuring out what's wrong and doing benchmarks and everything for 4 hours straight today. I'm done for the day.

The 3D score is 8700. I guess that's all the jucie this card has? The GTX 1060 has a score of a suprising 9400. Checked it multiple times. I gues I'll keep the GTX 1060.
