But as Lord Vile said, I would definitely go for a desktop as it would have less issues with overheating and are better performance for price and give you upgrade options in the future. But that said, you want something portable so I guess you're kind of out of look here. What is your budget?
 The Asus M409 and M509 have horrible cooling and come with the obsolete 3700U. Avoid it. The Aspire 5 you have selected is the absolute best you can get for that money, as we've already told you. Oh I see for editing. Yes a Ryzen cpu is better IMO as more cores than intel so better for the editing. For £500 it may be a struggle to get somethong super great so I would definitely look in the used department or an outlet. But I think you mentioned you were against that? So I would use the advice the peeps gave you above

Posted July 19, 2020 Make sure you have 16GB memory, or see if there's a spare slot inside. Some laptop nowdays only have build in RAM, so you can never upgrade it. All the Acer swift line doesn't have a memory slots. I don't know if the aspire have one. 8gb probably enough for now, but 16gb is recommended. For video editing right? 8gb is okay for light editing, but in the future, when you want to make something better, you might want a bigger ram. At least if you have an empty slot, it's possible to upgrade. From the link above, i would get the 4500u version. No doubt.
