My goal is too game at 60fps at 1080p but my current setup can't get that. I believe my CPU is bottle necking my GPU but I don't know what cpu would be best to upgrade too if it is my problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GPU: AMD 5600xt 6gb

Ram: 8gb 2or

How did you verify that it’s running at 3200mhz and that it is stable? What timings? Is it one or two sticks?

What specific 5600XT card do you have, and do you know if the post launch BIOS update that upped the memory bandwidth and clocks has been applied? Also what games are you playing?

I have a Sapphire PULSE 5600XT and I'm easily pulling 60+ fps at WQHD (3440x1440). That's not the best CPU, but I can't imagine it would result in that much of a performance hit.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X · Cooler: Artic Liquid Freezer II 280 · Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 Unify · RAM: G.skill Ripjaws V 2x16GB 3600MHz CL16 (2Rx8) · Graphics Card: ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti TUF Gaming · Boot Drive: 500GB WD Black SN750 M.2 NVMe SSD · Game Drive: 2TB Crucial MX500 SATA SSD · PSU: Corsair White RM850x 850W 80+ Gold · Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow · Monitor: MSI Optix MAG342CQR 34” UWQHD 3440x1440 144Hz · Keyboard: Corsair K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (OPX Switch) · Mouse: Corsair Ironclaw RGB Wireless Gaming Mouse

I would suggest waiting. But to answer this question. A 3300x would be a nice upgrade.

They asked specifically about the timings because clocking it to 3200Mhz is pretty meaningless if you had to go to like CL22 or 24 to get there. That's an extreme example, but it's still important info.

The overclock moved it to CL20

Yes that's practically the same latency as a 2666 cl16 kit ( most likely worse actually).

If you can find it. I don't think I've ever even seen it in stock once here in the States.

Fair. Stock here wasn't actually hugely affected.

Okay I'll put it back to stock then. But my main worry was that my GPU wasn't enough cause I just bought it like 1month ago.

It's a decent GPU.

If you can wait. Then wait for zen 3. Which is what I would go for. If you really need something now. Try finding a 3300x.

Yeah, it nothing else, the new chips will push the cost of the current gen down. Either way, you win.
