How can I connect my PG279Q to a HDMI 2.0 port at 165hz

Gerak_0

Hi,

My second monitor recently died, and I'm looking to buy a new monitor, a XG279Q. I currently have a PG279Q.

My problem is I have a Strix 1080ti with Two Display-port 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0b connectors. But I also have a Valve Index that connects over display port. So both my display ports are used for the XG279Q and the Index.

Another problem is the PG279Q's HDMI port only outputs 1440p at 60hz.

Is there a way for me to connect my PG279Q to a HDMI 2.0b port at 1440p 144hz? I'm open to some crazy out of the box solutions.

There are adapters I can find like:

 https://www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-HDMI-Adapter-Converter-60Hz-Black/dp/B01M6WK3KU/ref=pd_lpo_23_t_0/260-3635741-5829047?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01M6WK3KU&pd_rd_r=f8564735-9fef-4367-8240-08f31aea7783&pd_rd_w=GKUCn&pd_rd_wg=MCsGt&pf_rd_p=7b8e3b03-1439-4489-abd4-4a138cf4eca6&pf_rd_r=362NJ6EYDX3C2Z2RPA5G&psc=1&refRID=362NJ6EYDX3C2Z2RPA5G

But they all go from The monitors HDMI 2.0 to the PCs Display-Port 1.2 which is the opposite of what I need.

If you want a better upgrade, sure. But XG279Q is not really an upgrade from PG279Q. What Glenwing said is correct.
