Motherboard that supports 3200mhz ram

I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard to one that will support my ram but I can't find any lga 1151 that I like. I want an aorus to go with my gigabyte gpu. I  have a i5-7400 if that helps.

Honestly. I wouldn't spend any more money on this dead platform. I would say wait for zen 3 and then sell these parts.

PSA: No, I didn't waste all that money on computers, (except the main one) my server cost $40, the intel NUC was my old PC (although then it had 8GB of ram, I gave the bigger stick of ram to a person who really needed it), my laptop is used and the second PC is really cheap.

I like tinkering with computers and have a personal hatred towards phones and everything they represent (I daily drive an iPhone 7, or a 6, depends on which one works that day)

well, get a Z270, but why would you pair a 7400 with 3200MHz ram?

Low temperature? You realise the i9 is pulling near of 320W right? Also, if you're talking about performance I don't think you'll notice the 10-20fps difference. I would highly suggest looking at AMD's lineup of Zen 2 CPUs or wait for Zen 3 and see how they (zen 3) stacks up against Intel.

I very much so adivice you to not spend any money on your dead platform. A new motherboard will not give you any better performance and your current board will accept 3200mhz but just not run it at that speed. Not that it matters anyways as your cpu won't benefit from faster ram either way.

 

Also amd has really caught up and is beating intel in a lot of places now too. They are just the better value for money nowadays. So my advice is to just leave your current system as it is and then upgrade later as a i5 quad core for gaming is just not cutting it anymore.

 

A ryzen 3600 + b450 board is right in your budget an will walk over a 7400.

 

Oh and intel has basically been the ones with the higher temperatures in their cpu for years now.

on intel faster ram will not effect the CPU performance by much, 3200 MHz does not cost much but I would not change motherboard to support it, at this point you can get a completely new motherboard and CPU combo

What low temperatures?

 

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the AMD stock cooler capable of handling a 3950x 16c beast? And then you have the 10900k consuming 300w and needing a 360mm AIO minimum.

If you can wait zen 3 (ryzen 4000) is coming in fall. If you can't a ryzen 3600 with a decent b450 or b550 board will more than do.

Yeah but gta v kills me with 40 fps on high settings with gtx 1660 gaming oc 6gb @TofuHaroto

That's because your limited by your cpu. Ram speeds won't change much.

Also amd has really caught up and is beating intel in a lot of places now too. They are just the better value for money nowadays. So my advice is to just leave your current system as it is and then upgrade later as a i5 quad core for gaming is just not cutting it anymore.

 

A ryzen 3600 + b450 board is right in your budget an will walk over a 7400.

 

Oh and intel has basically been the ones with the higher temperatures in their cpu for years now.

@jaslion my h110 pro vd  doesn't support 3200mhz, just 2400mhz and I want to get the full performance.

Why a B550? A mortar max or tomahawk max from MSI's b450 line up is more than enough to power a R7 3700X lmao.
