Asus Tug Gaming B460 Plus & Core i5 10400f

Planing to buy Asus TUF Gaming B460 Plus mobo with Intel Core i5 10400f cpu.

Anybody using B460 chipset? Or 10th gen cpus ? Is it ok for gaming and video rengdering?

Don't, get a 3600 and a solid B550 board instead.

There's not much point in buying a locked Intel chip and especially in buying a non-Z series chipset board for Intel.

I wouldn't get a locked comet lake chip and am LGA 1200 b series board. 

If your on a tight budget. Get a 3600 and a tomahawk max or a mortar max. Or get a 10600k and a z490 a pro if you have more money. Avoid both of these.

The i5 10400 is shit. It's slower than the 3600, runs hotter, uses more power and it's more expensive. Get a Ryzen 5 3600 and a B550 board.

It will be more costly than a superior AM4 solution but unless it has a few port(s) you need and have a cooler from earlier that is compatible? I would vote for AM4.

OP if you still is determined to buy a B460 make sure you buy a board with board such as ASUS B460 Plus with 8-chokes, since they are likely at worst a 3+1 with doublers and preferably with a heat sink over its VRM. (still I advice against it since Ryzen 5 3600 is much better)

Yeah, no. A B450+3600 combo is quite a bit better than going with a locked B460+10400F, and is better value too. I have made various builds for people from India (on MDcomputers), and have seen that the 3600 has a distinct pricing edge over the 10400F. As for the 'AMD doesn't work with high ambient temps' issue, okay, look, first up, bulldozer is a completely different animal, compared to zen 2. Secondly, no, that's a non issue, as if you're uncomfortable with the wraith stealth, you can literally buy a gammax 400 (v2), and still have the build cost less than an intel build
