Setting Primary Monitor for Gaming

yusuft99

Hi, just wanted to see if anyone knows whether which monitor is set as the primary monitor in the Nvidia control panel actually affects gaming performance, as I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere. I've noticed that while playing COD Warzone, if my primary monitor is set to the other one then the fps seems to drop quite a lot, and it seems more stable when my game monitor is set as primary. Not sure if I'm imagining this or if it actually affects performance but would appreciate any ideas, thanks very much!

What are your two monitors? If the non gaming one is a 60hz monitor and is set as the primary, then the game will probably be locked to 60fps.

I have a Lenovo l28u-30 4k 60hz and LG 27GL63T 1080p 144hz monitor, however the game doesn't lock at 60 it just struggles to stay above 100 a lot of the time which is why I'm confused.
