The MSI board is very capable. Even the best Biostar boards on the tier list don't match it in any way.

it's one less vcore phase than the biostar board. if anything, it would be worse.

VCore phase count doesn't matter. It's about what exact components and their quality are used. A 4-phase board can be much better than a 8-phase board.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

well a lot of what's been spoken at the moment has gone right over my head! haha

I understand the whole mining I think (bitcoin related?).

We were talking about the CPU-power-delivery built into the motherboard. TLDR: The Biostar board is not suited for a 3600 or 3700x.

When buying used GPUs chances are, they were used to mine cryptocurrency like bitcoin. This means they likely ran under 100% full load for longer periods. Weeks or months without a pause. Most sellers don't tell you when the card has been used with mining. Because of that, buying used GPUs can be risky.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Ah right I see.

I'll stay clear of a second hand GPU really. Unless it's from somewhere like AVforums where sellers are more reputable.

If you really want to build now, this is the list i can recommend: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/z9wCYH

This PC will easily handle 1080p 144Hz and even 1440p (altough not always 144Hz). Streaming is no prolem too because you'll have the awesome NVENC encoder and the 3600 is no slouch either. And while staying with reasonable parts this is as much performance as you'll get for this price range.

If you still have time, there might be more performance for your money by waitng for next-gen ryzen or the new Nvidia GPUs. Altough i think Nvidia might release high-end first, so something new in your price range could be a while away.

If you want a good monitor to go with the build id recommend looking into the AOC 24G2:

I'm not too fussed on 1440p would rather have better frame rates I think.

I think from what I read, Nvidia will be releasing the 3080 first, and then say the 3060 potentially next year?

That monitor looks really tall, I am planning on having a dual monitor set up. I have got a second monitor already that will be used for basic tasks/chat options. Is a curved monitor worth it? Or can it look lout of place next to a flat screen?

I don't think 3x25a vcore is a good idea for a 3600...

The monitor has a fully adjustable stand. You can slide it down. I'd not look into curved monitors under 32" because then the curve is more distracting than anything else.

Like i said, i think the lower tier GPUs will release later. How much later? No one can really tell. The high-end is rumored to release late 2020.

Better framerates would be my choice aswell.

Yeah, I can see the lower end Nvidia GPU being next year, be nice to have them all this year... but it will be unlikely.

Ah will definitely look into your monitor choice. Keyboard and mouse seems like something I'll have to test in a store! Don't really have any PC specialists local to me. Only a curry's, they're hardly a fountain of knowledge!

LTT has good budget keyboard and mouse roundups. You can have a look at the videos to start off.

Go to "Hardware Unboxed" on Youtube for a really good review on the AOC 24G2 and see yourself why it's recommended so easily.
