GPU's significantly faster than an RX 580. CPU should be about on par with a Ryzen 3100 here, because you're still going to be GPU bound. Overall should perform better than the 3100+580 combo, and you also get a 480GB SSD.

Power supply is good too. B-tier.

Do you need a keyboard and mouse? Because if not, you can use the build I posted but go up to an RX 5600 xt

@Guys I would be using 3100 or 3300x (if anyone can put that up) < i3-9100f as a priority here. Because I really am not in the favour of an AGPU build. Do these builds need 3-4 fans (2-3 in front) or having a fan in the rear will do just fine?

Edit: Will a i5-9400f not do for my budget?

you could go 3300x, but the RX 5600XT build that @Aereldor has recommended is an absolute beast. buy that card if possible and pair it with a 3100 or 3300x if possible

lemme see if i can put together a list hold up

no sweat.

the cpu is a downgrade, of course, but that gpu wont even let you know the differnece. it will give you better perfromance than a 1660 super paired with a i5-9400

as you can see, the build with a cheaper b450 board (no point in a320) and a 3100 crosses your budget by 90 pounds. also, i wouldnt trust that psu. it could kill your components if youre not careful.

get the i3-9100f and 5600xt.

(just for reference, the 5600xt offers performance equivalent or better than the rtx 2060, at a probably lesser cost)

Sorry for the questions. Too many choices and too difficult for a beginner.

the 9400 is a terrible value paired with a dead platform, even if you budget allows it, i would rather get a 3600 for a couple pounds more.

Also no 3300x eh?

I guess it is either i3-9100f or 3100 then.

@dcybergeek  to put it in short,

1. 3300x+1650super or 1660

2. 3300x+1660 or 1660super (too expensive for budget)

3. 3100+1660 or 1660super

4. 3100+5600xt (maybe will fit in budget)

5. 9100f+5600xt or 1660super

6. no 9400f 😛

my suggestions (ranking from best to worst, in terms of value and performance) (from a gaming standpoint):

4. 3100+5600xt

5. 9100f+5600xt or 1660super

2. 3300x+1660 or 1660super

3. 3100+1660 or 1660super

Sorry for the questions. Too many choices and too difficult for a beginner.

for gaming,

a better gpu + lower cpu is better than a better cpu + lower gpu

the 5600xt is a mid-high end GPU. pairing it with an i3-9100f will get you better performance than with a i5-9400f + 580/1650s.

this is Red Dead Redemption 2 on HIGH settings 1080p on a 9100f and a 5600xt. 80 FPS ON AVERAGE!

YOU'LL GET EVEN MORE ON LESS DEMANDING TITLES! ITS AN ABSOLUTE STEAL!

Not gonna be possible without going way over budget... Already 550 with 16gb ram and a 500gb ssd. Also the i3 9100F is not that far behind the 3100, hyperthreading doesn't make a colossal difference, and 9th gen IPC isn't terrible. The i3 9100f at 4.2 GHz boost is basically a 7600k overclocked to 4.7Ghz, and you wouldn't tell someone with a 4.7 GHz 7600k to upgrade to a Ryzen 3 3100, would you?

tbh people are slapping the 9100f for no reason. With a 5600xt you're still gonna be GPU bottlenecked. Hyperthreading doesn't make a colossal difference, and the 3100 is going to be 300mhz short of the i3, so performance should be basically identical with a 5600xt.

Ahhh, so here is the thing:

1. To get that mid-range GPU I gotta stick with i3-9100f (by staying my less than ~ 550 GBP budget).

2. OK, I see 5800XT or 1660S why not the 1650S? Also seeing Aereldors 580 8GB then how would you put them as a list in terms of worse better good best? (Curious)

Awesome.

I can always sacrifice for an HDD for the time being. And I do not honestly mind waiting times. Will that help?

Also I know from your 2 builds it is 580 < 5800XT but "IF" then 580 or 1650S?

No. You've got it mixed up again. RX 5600xt > 2060 > 1660 Super > 580 > 1650 Super. The RX 5600xt is MUCH faster. Given its better driver support, it will likely catch up to the 2060 super, the same way the 5700xt is now only about 7% slower than the much more expensive 2070 Super (previously it was 10% slower). AMD's driver support is just better, their cards will catch up.

The build you should be doing is the one I posted with the i3 9100F and the RX 5600 xt.

I wouldn't worry about the upgrade path if you're not upgrading for two years. In two years, I highly doubt AMD will still be using AM4 (their roadmap suggests Ryzen 4000 is the last generation for AM4 anyway). In two years, DDR5 will almost definitely be a thing, and with how competitive the market is right now, Intel may even be able to make competitive offerings later on.
