Upgrading tips plz

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I got a CYBERPOWERPC From BestBuy awhile back and its been great so far but looking to make a few upgrades to the System. Right now I got 16GB of Viper RAM and was thinking about upgrading that to Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB. That runs like $200 I think so that would leave me with $200-$400 to spend on other upgrades. I will list some other specs below for possible suggestions for upgrades.

Graphics- Radeon RX 580 Series VRAM 8192MB GDDR5 2000MHz

CPU- AMD Ryzen7 3700 8-Core Processor

Motherboard- Gigabyte AX 370M-DS3H

I’d be more concerned about buying a safe psu and motherboard before buying unnecessary RAM.

That CPU is plenty capable, 16GB RAM is enough, and the case looks nice. I would wait for NVidia Ampere and get the top-end GPU - the RTX 3080. You can easily sell that 580 for $100.

Check your power supply against this list - if it's below B-tier, it might not be safe to run a 3080 on it

I'd strongly recommend a good PSU, Mobo and a decent CPU cooler. The wraith prism included with the retail 3700X is great, but it looks like they slapped a wraith spire/stealth onto it. I bet it runs dangerously hot and loud. Sadly cyberpower is known for very bad thermals and cheap, underperforming coolers. At least get a 30$ Hyper 212 Evo (or Black Edition for 35$) or a 35$ Arctic eSports 34. A good PSU like the CoolerMaster MWE Gold 650 W is going for ~100$. As for the mobo: I bet the VRMs are also dangerously hot because this board was never meant for a 3700X. I'd go for a B450 Tomahawk for ~115$ because of your limited budget.

 

Then you'll have ~350$ left. Just save the money and maybe add a bit more to the pool later and wait a few months for the next-gen GPUs. When the next gen GPUs from NVidia are out get something like a 3070/3080.

For the PSU- EVGA 600 GD switching power supply 600W. Is this PSU good or bad? Ya I'm not sure if I want to get a whole new Mobo because then I would pretty much have to rebuilt it.I run MSI afterburner and my temps are pretty good.
