Charles Chiang, CEO of MSI, has tragically passed away at the age of 56

In another piece of tragic news in the year 2020, Charles Chiang, CEO and GM of MSI, has passed away from injuries sustained from a head trauma after falling off a building.

The 56-year-old Sheng-Chang Chiang had just taken over as CEO of MSI in January 2019. He fell from the seven-floor building for unknown. Security of MSI went out on patrol and at 2 pm local time heard a loud noise. Chiang was found lying on the ground in the company's car lane. The police hurried to the scene and rushed him to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, he passed away. Authorities are investigating the incident.

Having served the role since January 2019, Mr. Chiang has previously served as MSI's general manager for desktop platforms and played a key role in MSI's turnaround in that sector, notably for graphics cards and motherboards.

Damn, that's always sad to hear. Regardless of the reason, accident, suicide, etc. it's not something that you ever think will happen until it does. I wish his family the best getting through his loss and the tough times it will bring.

This is extremely sad and a horrible story. My thoughts go out to his family and all staff at MSI.

 

They have been making some awesome products lately under his leadership!

They've had a few misses like the 5700XT Mech OC and the earlier X570 boards, but I also feel that MSI as a whole has turned around in the past decade, turning into a notable AIB in the PC enthusiast and gaming laptop market, notably as this was the period where Mr. Chiang was at the helm before being promoted to CEO last year.

I've got the Gaming X Trio 2070S from them and it's really been an excellent performing graphics card. 

 

They've made duds before but they seem to be getting better overall.

My MSI GTX 970 lasted longer than my EVGA GTX 1080 lol. I've always heard good things about EVGA but man, that was a little bit of a disappointment. My MSI Z97 board is great too, although I've only had it for 5 years or so. I think I'll be buying at least one MSI product when I get a new computer, anyway, whether it be the motherboard or the graphics card (or that sick plush dragon if I can get one lol).

If you are wondering if it was suicide or if he was pushed, the end result is the same, he was the victim of something bigger than him.

 

 

For those concerned,   during this time suicides have gone up tremendously, everyone struggles with something at the best of times so check in on your friends (even check in on those who aren't your friends, maybe they don't have friends).
