After power surge PC won't boot, still won't boot after replacing MOBO and PSU

jdeegz

Hi all,

I'm at a loss here, hope someone on here can help.

A few weeks ago my circuit breaker tripping caused my PC to not power on.

What would happen is that my MOBO would flash LEDs for a split second before turning off.

After looking online I replaced both the Motherboard and the PSU but exactly the same issue remains.

I have removed the GPU and the RAM and the it still does the same thing.

Any idea here? I assume my CPU must be fried by process of elimination, but I am also wary of the cables with my case and if they're causing the problem.

Well, something is definitely dead. If you can't even enter the BIOS - it's pretty likely the CPU is fucked.

Build the pc outside the case with 1 stick of memory, no gpu for now.

Nope still nothing.

Assuming this is CPU or RAM?

Could it be something else like RAM or case power cable?

I've already replaced PSU and Motherboard so I assume it's not either of them causing this.

have you unplugged everything? Hard drives, USB devices etc etc.

Start with just the mobo, cpu, cooler and PSU.

Nothing else.
