Looking for opinions for this non-gaming budget laptop

Hello,

So I'm looking for a laptop for a student. She won't be doing anything heavy, mainly MS Office apps, Chrome, videos, etc.

In my country, it's hard to find something decent in the price I'm looking for due to very high taxes, but I found something sub 600$ that looks like it ticks all of the boxes. Here is the laptop. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting a link. In case I am, the laptop is called Lenovo Laptop V14 ARE 82DQ000PUS.

It seems like it gives great value for the price.

  • Great CPU.
  • Looks decent.
  • The trackpad isn't on the left/right.
  • Build quality looks good.
  • Battery life looks good from reviews I saw
  • I/O is great.

Am I missing something? Do you guys recommend anything else?

Thanks :)

the ryzen 4500u is actually quite a good cpu, I would go for it.

the only obvious draw-back that I see is the TN screen. an IPS would be much better for general use and media.

I agree, but searching for an IPS panel either bumps up the price in the results by quite a bit or suggest inferior CPUs/build quiality stuff.

Well,.you should really no looking at the Acer Swift 3 with a 4500U or 4700U. It's about 650$ and by far the best you can get for your needs and budget

Looks good! It bumps up the price by 150$ in my currency, but from what I can tell, the CPU is stronger (8 core), backlit keyboard, IPS display and it's lighter by almost half a kg. Thank you!

If you can find the Lenovo Ideapad 5 14 it's pretty good. Can be configured with a IPS screen and from a 4500U to a 4700U. Not sure about availability in the US though

No problem. It's well worth the investment considering the value.

This one also looks good! IPS, forward facing speakers, IPS panel and it's the same price as the V14. I will do some more homework, thanks!
