PSU

Dark_Reaper255

I’m starting a Pc build (actually my first one) but the PSU I want is not available nowhere I saw there is a problem with the PSU but I wanted to know what PSU I could get to replace the one I wanted. I was looking for a Corsair RM750 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply.

I wouldn't recommend the zen, there aren't really that many reliable reviews out there. also, the other units are leagues ahead

It is but human, to err, to buy a PSU, akin to dirt,

but fret not, young Padawan, for we will tell you,

what will become, of that, which you have earned

I had good experiences with Seasonic (4 PSUs) and beQuiet (~3 PSUs). No problems over the last 10 years.

750W is a lot, what are you specs? 90% of PC's are likely more than fine with a 550-650W PSU, and as long as you get a quality one you are fine. And at 650W you have good options available fore less $$$ as well. Keep in mind there is a PSU shortage ATM so make your purchase quick.

Here are good ATX options (assuming USD):

I recommend the 650W RMx.

Its supposedly just a little worse than the cx. But it was really just a step-in during for other units during the shortage. Stilø a decent choice at the right price.

One is not like the others.

But they are not bad. So

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

eh, it's just that the andyson platform that the zen uses is unproven, that's all. the zen is fine, for the right price

Just adding onto this for anyone else reading. The 450/550W SKUs of the Formula Gold only have a single rail for the PCIe power cables and can trigger protections when used with high transient GPUs such as Vega (ayy) and Pascal.

Yup 650W would be just fine, I recommend any of the ones I linked.
