My PC recently died, so I am currently in the market for a new gaming PC build!

This is the link to the current version of my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j696Wb

Edit: This is the modified build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wddyn7

I have multiple questions that I would like some advise on, as I've only built one PC in the past, and I did not choose the parts myself.

So, firstly, with my choices for CPU and GPU, is this the best "bang for my buck" at a total price point of around $1,000?

Also, I am wondering if at this price point it is worth it to invest in any non-stock CPU cooler, or case fans? I have always just went with the stock variants in the past.

Is it worth it to buy 3600MHz ram? As I was searching I was told this was the best option with my current build.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

What broke with the old build?

Edit : Ram is to OP (pls nerf) and same with the PSU also you would really want a second HDD and a case where it fits, what's the old specs?

I want 32GB DDR4 ram for video editing particularly. After Effects eats it up. Also, the old specs from what I can remember:

Mobo: MSI 970 Gaming

GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

CPU: AMD FX-8350

Ram: 16GB DDR3 HyperX

Storage: 4TB WD HDD, 1TB WD HDD

I may be wrong here, but your GPU seems a bit overpowered compared to the CPU you're getting. Maybe consider dropping the price on your GPU a bit, and upgrade your CPU to something better like a Ryzen 7 3700. Or you could use the extra money to get a larger SSD or an HDD for storage. 500 GB will fill up fast if you're playing higher-end games.

I would only spend money on a non-stock cooler if you're planning to overclock. If you aren't overclocking, the cooler that comes with the CPU will work just fine for the Ryzen 5 3600. As far as case fans go, it really depends on how many your case already has.

Also, what case will you be using with this build out of curiosity?

I have HDDs to use. I just want a SSD for the speed. I'm not sure about what case I'll be using yet. I had this in mind: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Airflow-Tempered-Mid-Tower-Gaming/dp/B07VL5QHMB/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=corsair+275r+airflow+white&linkCode=sl2&linkId=51d5a42f29fe0a01fdef60187c20dc31&qid=1593891576&sr=8-1&tag=geeka2020-20

I would salvage the drives and maybe get a better CPU in the new build and lower the PSU wattage since that is just a waste of money (and for god's sake get a case so it's compatible)

Since that case comes with three fans, you should be good for now. You can always upgrade and add more fans later.

I haven't gone through and tested everything yet. But I have had issues with the power supply, MOBO, and GPU in the past. The CPU and ram are too old for me to want to put into a new build.

$1000 is the most I'd like to spend. The PC I previously used is the first PC I ever had, and it has been used extensively, and it is cleaned often but I have noticed some issues and dips in performance. That is, before it outright stopped functioning.

You might want some more storage... No need for 32gb ram for gaming, go for 16gb 3200 or 3600mhz. Also that power supply is overkill. Go with something like a TXM650. Otherwise, great choice of components
