External audio solution

IAmAndre

Hi,

For some reason the audio ports on my motherboard have never worked properly so I've been using a cheap USB adapter for the past year but it recently died and I'm looking for a solid replacement because I just realized how bad the audio quality has been so far. So right now I want to invest on a 2.1 set of speakers, but I also want to be able to use my headphones and my microphone. So ideally what I would need is some kind of USB adapter that has at least two audio jack inputs and one microphone input, while delivering an optimal sound quality.

Where can I find such a device, and what other solutions do I have?

Thanks.

so you need a headphone out , a line out for the speakers as well as a mic in? what type of mic ,headphones and speakers are you hoping to run?

Yes pretty much. I'm using a Corsair HS50 with the included microphone. So it has a jack that does both input and output but it came bundled with a splitter. I'm also buying speakers from Logitech (not sure about the model yet) that would require a single output jack. I'm considering buying a sound card like this one but I'm not sure if it's worth it, considering that it would cost almost the same price as my speakers.
