Asus Rog Swift PG35VQ ovepriced?

First ultrawide, currently have a 27' ROG Swift. 

 

Seeking something 1440p, not 4k pls. 

 

Not sure 200 hz is my main interest (could easily survive with 100), mostly interested in HDR and overall picture quality.

 

 

Desktop: 7800x3d @ stock, 64gb ddr4 @ 6000, 3080Ti, x670 Asus Strix

 

Laptop: Dell G3 15 - i7-8750h @ stock, 16gb ddr4 @ 2666, 1050Ti

You're paying for the G-SYNC I believe.  My PG279Q was about the same as my 1080Ti...between 7 and 800 USD.  You'll be paying extra if you require G-SYNC.

You might want to look at the Samsung g7 odyssey (reviewed in most recent short circuit video) seems pretty good and I think it comes in 27”. Don’t know the price though.

That seems like an amazing new release, going to wait for the reviews tho.

Yeah I did skim. 

 

Mostly seeking answers as to why that ASUS monitor might be worth to splurge 3000 on or not.
